ERRCS Testing – Frequently Asked Questions
- Are ERRCS and Public Safety DAS the Same?ERRCS and Public Safety DAS describe related but different aspects of in-building emergency communication. ERRCS or ERCES refers to the system that supports emergency responder radio coverage. Public Safety DAS refers to the distributed antenna network commonly used within that system.
- Does Every Commercial Building Need ERRCS Testing? No. Testing requirements will depend on the building, its measured signal coverage, local fire code, and the authority having jurisdiction. Building height, total floor area, underground levels, and insufficient interior coverage can influence whether an evaluation is required.
- Does Service 1st Install or Repair ERRCS Equipment? No. Service 1st Fire Protection provides signal testing, site surveys, annual inspections, and code compliance support. We do not design, install, repair, or maintain ERRCS, DAS, or BDA equipment.
